29 August - Still Waters - The Navigation

Although this was gonna be a duo gig, we draughted  Rockstar in who used his electric kit for the first time live. First off a big hurrah for Dan -  the house chef for winning 'Masterchef on the night and getting through to the quarter finals! And also thanks to Dave for my nice new hat - very 'Rocky Horror'! Another thanks to all the wives and girlfriends for driving allowing us all to get artistically lubricated, and also to the following for attending - Mike and his misses, Michele and Ian, Vicky, Ken, Angie and hubby, Dave and mate, the peeps from Yardley club, and anyone else who knew us!

30 August - CLD - The Cromwell

A quiet but successful night - a huge thanks to Hel for keeping us lubricated for free! Nice to see Ted - a colleague turn up - although in honesty he didn't come to see us - it's his local! Played to our youngest young chap - a one day old bab named Lee! My satnav packed up as we left, but Richard followed his nose and got us home unscathed!

31 August - Insurrection - The Pitz

This was a cracker. Thanks to all who showed - Lorraine and Jeff, Dave and Rosie, Linda and Lee, Ross, Barry, Andy, Neil, Sandra and Steve, Martin,  and everyone else. Also a huge thanks to Mikey for a great sound - a wicked afternoon!

31 August - CLD - The Romany

With the credit crunch - we've got used to less peeps but this was the exception. It was the new manager's first night and we did them proud, Thanks to Adele and co, and Martin (red strat) and his gal, and all Rockstars family and friends for showing out. Just loved it - a nice venue with good beer - just hope the new guvnors keep it up!

11 September - CLD - The Plough

A pretty decent turn out for this gig - nice to see most of the stony music peeps along, many to welcome our old friend Clive back to the UK for some time. There were a couple of celebrations including a wedding anniversary and a 60th Birthday (John?). The evening included an impromptu rendition of 'Brown Eyed Girl' from Mr Clewley - not sure if he was doing the same version as us but we got there in the end! A big thanks to .....Clive, Andy F, Andy B, Ian, Darren, Marc, Michele, Rich form Stax, Mikey, Martin to name but a few - big apologies if I didn't mention you!

12 September - CLD - The Cuba

No getting away with it - this was a pretty quiet night, with a small but perfectly formed audience! Thanks to Debbie and her mate, Cliff and....erm.... oh yeah - forgot to mention Rock Star turned up late and started to revolt when I threatened to fine him.......if Les Dawson could play the drums - that would have been his version of the intro to chasing cars!

13 September - CLD - The Albert

This was a bit more like it - a good Saturday night with lots of peeps along. Another stonker playing wise - a couple of cock ups including starting the first set with PA turned right down - mentioning no names - but lets say it was down to the elder statesman of the band heh heh! Thanks again to Debs and her mates, Postman Paul and the other Paul, Alan and Steph, Simon and Tanita, the couple who are regulars who bought us a drink - sorry your name escapes me, the guy in the chair who I chatted to, Dawn, and the staff for making us welcome as always!

20 September - CLD - The Royal Oak

This gig nearly didn't happen - we turned up to find we'd been double booked with a karaoke - how could they!! Anyway - the Karaoke bravely gave in and we entertained for the night. Fortunately, Richard was driving so I managed to MASSAGE my tonsils with Newcastle Brown! Lovely

21 September - CLD - The Golden Horse

Bit of a strange time to play - 4 'til 8, and it was a punishing three times one hour sets. The gig got off to a calamitous start as we realised one of the front of house speakers had blown, but the gig was saved with a little technical jiggery pokery using one of the monitors as a main speaker. We played well - but admittedly there were one or two uncharacteristic cock ups. Thanks to Bev and Sue from work for popping along and also Sue's daughter - and the nice fella that bought us a round of drinks - well appreciated.

26 September - Still Waters - The Railway Steamer

This was a last minute gig for Dave and I at a venue we'd never played. The place was very small and the clientele mainly very youthful - but all friendly and up for a sing song. An enjoyable gig that I'd def do again. The evening came to an interesting close - it seems Her Majesty's constabulary were lying in wait for us outside the pub - as I drove off we were promptly pulled over for a blown headlight. Now I must admit to having a penchant for women in uniform, as do most red blooded males, but we were accosted by the two butchest WPC's in the force - no messing about......"sit in the back of the car sir"......."Have you had a drink sir"......."blow into this sir"...........despite only having had one pint, I must admit I was cacking myself so it was a relief when the rookie special announced a zero reading. Poor Dave came up to find out what was happening and i told him I'd been nicked - when he asked what for I replied...."Impersonating a musician' ha ha!

27 September - Insurrection - The Plough and Harrow

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

A cracking gig - we were on good form. A few less than usual cos some of the regulars had gone to a party, but still enough to give us an atmosphere! It was Steve's birthday and he was suitably adorned with pressies from us, including a set of brushes for the quieter gigs and a Rainbow video to get him in form for the louder ones! Thanks to Grant and the Bar Manager (sorry - not sure of your name) - for making us so welcome - cheers!

Coming Up

Just one gig next weekend on 4 October (Saturday) - Insurrection are at The Cannon in Wellingborough - a new one for us - a bit of a bikers place, and if it's anything like it's sister pub - The Horseshoe - in town - it should be rocking!
