As I sit here in the early morning dew

Watch the green trees reach up to touch the sky so blue

And I sit and wonder does the blue sky ever end

Does the rainbow have a meaning is there treasure at it’s end

And I need to know the answer to it all

Why autumn leaves will turn to gold before they start to fall

Why the birth of my children made me cry

Why passing time slips by me, however hard I try to slow down.

In a moment of reflection just imagine in your mind

How a picture paints a thousand words and the magic of a rhyme

So I give to you my music but the question does arise

Could a rhyme, a song, a picture paint the beauty of your eyes

So I’ll think about the ocean from where life’s said to start

And the whales that navigate the world with no need for a chart

Why do dolphins play incessantly and do they wonder why

Humankind is never satisfied however hard it tries

As the sun sets on the day that has no end

Looking back I think about the things on which I can depend

I ask the questions though the answers wont appear
